About the Author(s)

Harry Senn - has spent almost 25 years teaching students the about the operation and service of two-stroke and four-stroke engines in an EETC-accredited technical college. As an educator, his goal is to give his students the same level of education that technicians receive from outdoor power equipment industry trainers. Mr. Senn graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and completed the courses for a Major in English. He then earned a Masters Degree in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and served a chaplain in Civil Air Patrol for thirty years. He recently retired as a Lt. Colonel.

Mr. Senn became the first educator to earn the Master Instructor certification from Briggs and Stratton, and was one of the first four educators invited to Stihl for factory training. He continues to receive training from outdoor power equipment industry professionals through the EETC, where he has served on the 2-Stroke and 4-Stroke Certification Committees and currently serves on the EETC Education Committee.

Active in SkillsUSA, Mr. Senn is a Certified SkillsUSA State Director and was awarded the SkillsUSA Outstanding Career and Technical Educator Award. He is also a local SkillsUSA club Advisor, and his students have competed at National Leadership and Skills Conference in each of the last 22 years.

Mr. Senn is currently an Associate Professor at Texas State Technical College, teaching outdoor power equipment classes in the Diesel Department. He is also a trained safety officer and serves on the campus Risk Management Committee. Mr. Senn's program has twice received the EETC School of the Year Award.
