Subject: Information Technology
Grade Level: 9-14
Security Essentials is written for individuals wishing to pursue a career in information technology with a specific focus on information security, securing computer networks, hardening devices, and encryption. The text provides baseline information to help individuals develop and master skills expected of entry-level security technicians, as well as information needed for employment. The text is designed for those with prior experience in computer maintenance and networking but is written with the novice in mind. Presented in an easy-to-understand format, the text meets the CompTIA Security+ SY0-601 objectives and helps prepare the reader for the CompTIA Security+ Certification Exam.
  • Each chapter opens with a list of CompTIA objectives covered in the content, which students can use as a checklist to verify their understanding of Security+ standards.
  • End-of-chapter content includes sample Security+ questions to prepare for the exam.
  • A chapter on employment in the industry covers job search skills and soft skills.
Does your program incorporate soft skills development for students? Since every occupation needs these foundational skills, consider adding Soft Skills for the Workplace to your order.
