About the Author(s)

Dr. Stephanie Clemons - PhD, FASID, FIDEC, has been a professor of interior design for over 30 years at Colorado State University (CSU). She loves working with the future generation of design professionals. As a professor and previous coordinator of the Interior Architecture + Design Program at CSU, she teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. Dr. Clemons has been the recipient of many Outstanding Teacher and Advisor awards from her university and the Best Teacher award from the Alumni Association. She is one of 12 University Distinguished Teaching Scholars and the 2015 recipient of the Board of Governors Undergraduate Excellence in Teaching award. Dr. Clemons is currently serving as Faculty Council Representative on the Board of Governors for the Colorado State University System.

Within the profession, Dr. Clemons has served in numerous leadership positions including President of both the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) and the IDEC Foundation. In addition, Dr. Clemons is the previous Chair of the Journal of Interior Design and Chair of the National Board of Directors for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She was honored with the Fellow Award from both IDEC and ASID in recognition of her contributions to their organizations and the field of interior design. Recently, for her outstanding support of the interior design profession, Dr. Clemons was the recipient of the prestigious Nancy Vincent McClelland Merit Award from ASID.
