About Author(s)

Willis H. Wagner - was Professor Emeritus for the Department of Industrial Technology at Iowa State University. Mr. Wagner earned a bachelor of science degree from Central Missouri State University and a master of science degree from the University of Missouri. He worked in industry as a drafter and woodworker, and taught at the high school and collegiate levels. Mr. Wagner was a member of IAITA and ITEEA, and an honorary member of the Waterloo Technical Society.

Howard "Bud" Smith - spent most of his career as a magazine and textbook editor. He also worked as a carpenter for several years while earning a Ph.D. in journalism from Marquette University. Mr. Smith is the author of Energy and coauthor of Understanding Technology. Additionally, he has published articles in a variety of magazines over his career. He is currently retired.
