FAQs › How do I relocate ExamView® test banks so all banks may be selected from the same location?

If a previous version of ExamView had been installed on your computer, the version 8.1 or later software will attempt to access the legacy bank location by default. Please refer to “How do I change my test bank location preferences within the ExamView® TestGenerator?” to update the test bank location preference within your copy of the TestGenerator software.
Once this preference has been updated, you can copy your previously installed test banks from the legacy location to the new location in order to access all of the ExamView test banks at the same time.
Windows® process:
a. Navigate to the legacy test bank location.
C:\ExamView\Banks

b. Select the test bank folder(s) that you would like to move. Right click on the selection and select copy.
c. Locate the new test bank files in the following folder.
Windows XP®:
C:\Program Files\eInstruction\ExamView\Banks

Windows Vista® or later:
C:\Program Files (x86)\eInstruction\ExamView\Banks


d. Right click on a blank portion of the window and select paste. Your test banks will copy to this new location. You will now be able to access all test banks in the TestGenerator software.
Macintosh® process:
Navigate to the legacy test bank location.
Finder/Macintosh HD/ExamView Pro/Banks/

b. Select the test bank folder(s) that you would like to move. Control-click on the selection and select copy.
c. Locate the new test bank files in the following folder.
Finder/Macintosh HD/Applications/einstruction/ExamView Pro/Banks/

d. Control-click on a blank portion of the window and select paste. Your test banks will copy to the this new location. You will now be able to access all test banks in the TestGenerator software.
