The Quiz activity allows you to test your students on the material presented in the course.

Select Turn editing on in the upper-right corner.  |

Navigate to the section of the Course Outline where you want to add the Quiz
|
From the Add an activity drop-down, select Quiz.  |
Enter a Name that is relevant to the content of the quiz.  |
Selecting Open and Close dates specifies the time period when the quiz will be available to students.  |
Select the Disable checkboxes if you prefer to not set open or close dates.  |
To set a time limit, select the Enable checkbox and enter the number of minutes in the Time limit field.  |
If you are allowing multiple attempts, you may set a time delay between the first and second attempts and subsequent attempts.  |
Use the drop-down to select the number of Questions per page you want your students to see.  |
Use the drop-down to enable or disable Question shuffling.  |
You may also choose to Shuffle within questions (i.e. answer choices for a multiple choice question).  |
Use the drop-down to select the number of Attempts allowed.  |
The Each attempt builds on the last setting only applies if you allow multiple attempts.  |
If you select Yes, each new attempt of a quiz will contain the results of the previous attempt.  |
If you select No, a fresh quiz will be shown for every attempt.  |
If you select Yes for Adaptive mode, the student will be allowed multiple responses to a question within the same attempt of a quiz.  |
Assign a Grading method.  |
The Apply penalties setting only applies to quizzes run in adaptive mode.  |
Use the drop-down to select the number of Decimal digits in grades.  |
If desired, adjust the Review options.  |
The security section allows you to apply Browser security, Require a password, or Require a network address.  |
Use the Visible drop-down to select the visibility (Show or Hide) for this Quiz.  |
Use the Grade Category drop-down to select the gradebook location for this Quiz.  |
If desired, adjust Overall feedback.  |
Select Save and return to course.  |
