FAQ list > How do I adjust Restrict access settings?

 
Restrict access settings allow an instructor to restrict access to a resource or activity based on dates, grades, user field information, or numerous other requirements.
Select the Restrict access link to expand the section.

Select Add restriction… to add a new restriction setting.

Select the type of restriction you would like to set on the activity.

Select Activity completion if you would like the resource to become available to a student based on completion of another activity. Use the drop-down menus to determine the activity that must be completed and the condition the student must meet on that activity.

Select Date to determine a date and time duration in which students will be allowed access to the resource.

Select Grade if you would like the resource to become available to a student based on their grade earned on another activity.

Select User profile if you would like the resource to become available to a student based on information given in their user profile.

Select the Release code option to set a “password lock” on the resource. Enter the release code for the resource in this section. Only students who have been given the release code will be allowed access to the resource.

Use the Restriction Set option to set a more complicated set of nested restrictions.

Select Add restriction again if you would like to add more than one activity completion condition to the resource or activity.

By default, the student must match all restrictions set to access the activity or resource. This setting can be adjusted using the drop-down menus at the top of the Restrict access section.

Select the red x next to any restriction to remove that restriction.

Select Save and return to course to save your Restrict access settings and return to your course page.
