Description

Inventor—Basics of Parametric Modeling emphasizes feature-based parametric modeling concepts, with Inventor 2009 used as the tool to illustrate these concepts. Each chapter opens with a discussion of parametric modeling as it pertains to the chapter topic, followed by a discussion covering the basics of Inventor applied to the topic. This approach provides the reader an open door to learning the software.

This text includes many tools for applying and testing the student’s knowledge. These include: chapter tutorials, review questions, drawing problems, and a book project. The chapter tutorials are practical exercises of the topic presented in the chapter. Step-by-step instructions are provided to help the student complete the tutorial. The drawing problems provide additional practice. However, to complete the drawing problems, students are required to apply the knowledge gained in the chapter on their own. The book project guides the student through the modeling and assembly of an actual industrial machine. The student progresses through the book project with each chapter.

A Student CD bound into the text contains electronic versions of the chapter review questions. The CD also includes files required to complete certain activities in the text.
